As far i can remember and read in another site some time ago, Blender already was rejected in the Apple Store some time ago.Ībout Android devices, there were attempts in the past to do so, but android devices have/has very weak gpu’s that makes Blender impractical on these devices.

Maybe Apple can make an exception for Blender, but the decision is ultimately in hands of Apple executives. And even with that, Apple has clearly established that GPL software and software that allows the use of “plugins” (since it can be weaponized as a way to jailbreak the device) will never get permission to be published in the Apple store, so no Ipads/Iphone, and Apple has been quite clear to every developer out there about this.Īpple is helping Blender to be used on MACs only, and it seems they are quite happy to limit it only for Macs. I know the capability is there we just need to start a discussion as to how to get this to work or please point me in the direction if there already is one.In basic terms, Blender uses lots of libraries that are GPL/GPL compatible, changing the license or even dual licensing is out of the question, and also requires every developer to agree to that, so that involves time, and for developers that reject the idea, code has to be removed/rewritten so money will also be needed: This means “too much effort for a too little return”. I also have the device jailbroken if anyone knows a tweak to get the mouse working properly. Of course working from the machine directly would be better but this is about using my $1500 pc with the iPad while I'm not home. It boggles my mind that i cant find any information on getting this to work and that apple is asking you to pay for something that should just work. I guess you can get actually controll of your machines mouse if you have apples $100 magic mouse which even then is missing buttons i would need for blender. Instead of giving you access to your machines actual mouse you control your machines mouse with a cursor on the iPad controlled by a mouse ( sorry if thats confusing but those who have tried it know what im talking about).

I've tried chrome and Microsoft apps, both seem like they could work great but the problem is apples poor excuse for mouse support. I want to know if anyone has figured out a good way to use the ipad with a mouse and keyboard to model in blender remotely.
